25. building in Porto.

The building takes up the site of a wonderful rundown house that was the studio and home of some very good friends… but life goes on. Though the design makes the most of the permitted building and occupation ratio, fortunately most of the luxuriant, wild garden is preserved. And the rest is easy. A series of skylights define the areas that will continue to belong to the commissioning family: the shop-studio enjoys the garden and, at the top, the housestudio enjoys the views of the not-so-faraway sea. Between them remain a number of houses to sell and a repertoire of facades from which to choose.
